Read the definition of repentance carefully!!
“Repentance is choosing to turn to God. In religious contexts it usually refers to confession to God, ceasing sin against God, and resolving to live according to religious law. It typically includes an admission of guilt, a promise or resolve not to repeat the offense; an attempt to make restitution for the wrong, or in some way to reverse the harmful effects of the wrong where possible.”
Repentance has somehow come to be known as saying “sorry”, admitting your guilt and moving on with your life. Essentially confession and Repentance have been confused.
Jesus said ‘unless ye REPENT ye shall likewise perish.'
"You see, many people pray, 'the sinner's prayer' because they are scared of hell, but they still want to live like Satan. In other words, they are CONVICTED of their sins, but they certainly have not REPENTED of their sins. That's why they don't show up at your fellowship after you 'lead them to Christ'. That's why they don't get baptized. That's why they are still at the club on Ladies' Night.”
We need the people to understand that repentance means a complete change of heart, turning away from the old self and putting on the new self, and giving all authority to Jesus Christ and removing ourselves from the equation. We need to remember that saying sorry today and sinning tomorrow and saying sorry again is confession not repentance.
Repentance is never again doing what you know is wrong in the eyes of god and doing what is required by Jesus always.
So if repentance is what Jesus Preached, to get into heaven and it means never again doing what you know to be wrong in the eyes of god and doing what is right always...
I have just one question for you...
1. Have you ever repented?
When in prayer this was revealed to me, I was shocked to know, I have never repented in my life and the false hopes of many who think are on their way to heaven. Therefore REPENT we must and turn to God, for he alone is mighty to save.
